WHAT WE DO
Research & Strategy
The Research & Strategy Team works with all Teams on funded and independent research, builds professional networks for Birth Equity, and eliminates silos in pursuit of NBEC’s strategic vision.
Research staff coordinates to apply for, procure and report on each grant opportunity and award. We intentionally incorporate reproductive justice in all research methodologies, complete the requirements of that research and work across Teams to determine future research opportunities.
Strategy staff holds each team accountable to the NBEC Strategic Plan. We create opportunities for strategic platform development and research communications. We align NBEC programming with external movements and eliminate silos across NBEC initiatives.
NBEC creates global solutions that optimize Black maternal, infant, sexual and reproductive wellbeing. We shift systems and culture through training, research, technical assistance, policy, advocacy, & community-centered collaboration.
We remain grounded in lived experience and committed to thriving Black communities.
We aspire to the highest standards of research justice and cultural humility as a step beyond community-based participatory research.
We engage staff researchers and stakeholders in reproductive justice and intersectionality in praxis.
We shift culture by disseminating research with purpose and creativity.
